Cycling breaks in Carmarthenshire, West Wales
Carmarthenshire is ideally suited for the enjoyment of cycling and mountain biking. The beautiful countryside is abundant with bridleways and public footpaths. Also within 15 miles of The Mill at Glynhir is the Celtic Way, which is part of the National Cycle Network. The Celtic Way extends along South Wales coastline through the Millennium Coastal park and along miles of forest and golden beaches.
Mountain Biking Breaks West Wales
Great trails can be found in Brechfa Forest or more locally you can take your bike onto the Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons, both of which are easily accessible from The Mill.
A cycle route from The Mill
From The Mill at Glynhir Entrance you can get straight onto an old drovers track which undulates for two miles with beautiful views of the Carmarthenshire hills and valleys.
When you reach the end of the drovers track the rest of our described route follows the public roads but with may opportunities to explore the numerous bridleways and public footpaths which branch off from the country lanes.
On our route you will pass through small hamlets which have tea rooms, craft centres and public houses where you may feel like pausing for refreshments.
At the farthest point from the hotel is the historic ruins of Carreg Cennen Castle.
